Two Men Slashed in Early Morning Attack in Queens, NY

URGENT UPDATE: Two men were slashed by knife-wielding attackers in an alarming incident in Queens, NY, early this morning. Police report that the attack occurred just after 4:08 a.m. on December 7, 2023, at the intersection of Barnett Avenue and 48th Street in Sunnyside.

According to law enforcement sources, the victims—aged 27 and 25—were attempting to retrieve a two-wheeled device when they were ambushed by two suspects armed with a knife. The 108th Precinct swiftly responded to a 911 call reporting the incident, arriving on the scene to find the older victim suffering from a slash wound to the face and the younger victim with a slash wound to the neck.

Emergency Medical Services transported the 27-year-old man to Elmhurst Hospital, where he is currently listed in stable condition. The 25-year-old victim declined medical assistance at the scene, as police continue to investigate the brutal attack.

Authorities recovered a knife at the scene but have not yet made any arrests. Police are actively searching for the two suspects responsible for this violent assault; however, they have not provided descriptions of the individuals involved.

This incident adds to a troubling trend in the area. Felony assaults have surged by 11.6% in the 108th Precinct through November 30, with 278 incidents reported this year compared to 249 last year. Overall crime in the precinct has increased by 2.08%.
