Community Remembers Gail K. Wold, Beloved Musician and Volunteer

Gail K. Wold, a cherished member of the West St. Paul community, passed away at the age of 87. Wold’s life was characterized by her deep faith, commitment to family, and passion for music and animals. She leaves behind a legacy as a devoted mother, grandmother, and community volunteer.

Wold is survived by her children, Janelle (Todd) Rau and Kevin (Jodi) Wold, along with her grandchildren, Aaron (Kim), Emily (fiancé Jake), Griffin, and Shiloh. She also leaves behind two great-grandchildren, Andrew and Daniel, along with her brother-in-law, Paul (Linda) Wold, and several nieces and nephews. Her husband, Howie Wold, and parents, Gil and Ellen, preceded her in death.

Wold’s contributions to her community were extensive. A graduate of Park High School in 1956, she dedicated over 70 years of her life to music within her church. For more than 50 years, she directed the children’s choir, inspiring young voices and fostering a love for music. Additionally, Wold volunteered at the Minnesota Zoo for 45 years, sharing her passion for animals and education with countless visitors.

Visitation for Gail K. Wold is scheduled for December 19, 2023, from 4 PM to 7 PM at King of Kings Lutheran Church, located at 1583 Radio Drive, Woodbury. A funeral service will take place the following day, December 20, 2023, starting at 11 AM, preceded by an hour of visitation at 10 AM. A luncheon will follow the service, allowing family and friends to gather in memory of Wold.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Wold’s honor, reflecting her lifelong dedication to community service and music. Her spirit, kindness, and unwavering faith will remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
