Remembering Gloria “Glo” Ronnau: A Life of Love and Dedication

Gloria “Glo” Ronnau, a beloved matriarch known for her unwavering love and dedication to family, passed away at the age of 104. Born in 1921 in Los Angeles to Henry and Bertha Becnel, Glo’s life was marked by her deep commitment to her family and faith, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished for generations.

Glo attended Fremont High School and later worked at the Owl Rexall headquarters, where she met her husband, Don Ronnau. Together, they created a nurturing home filled with love, faith, and loyalty. Don predeceased her in 2007. Glo was a devoted mother to four children: Donny, who passed away in 2023, Diane, who passed in 2022, Ann Sidler (Derald), and Carol Randolph.

A Life Devoted to Family and Service

Residing in San Pedro since 1962, Glo dedicated two decades to the Los Angeles Unified School District, contributing her time and talents at Banning High School and Dodson Middle School. Her family was at the heart of her existence, nurturing her children, caring for extended family, and fostering a warm environment where everyone felt welcomed and loved.

Glo’s presence was a steady source of strength for those around her. She exemplified humility and generosity, consistently demonstrating her faith through actions rather than words. Her devotion to family, faith, and community shaped the lives of many, making her a beloved figure to all who knew her.

Throughout her remarkable life, Glo witnessed a century of change while remaining steadfast in the values that mattered most to her. Her legacy is defined by her unwavering love, which continues to resonate with her family and friends.

Visitation and Funeral Arrangements

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation scheduled for December 21, 2023, from 14:00 to 18:00 at Green Hills Memorial Park in the Cove Room. A recitation of the Rosary will take place at 16:00.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on December 22, 2023, at 10:00 at Holy Trinity Church, followed by a burial at Green Hills Memorial Park. The addresses for these locations are as follows:
