Hendricks County Deputies and K9 Honored for Outstanding Service

Recognizing exceptional service, three members of the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office have received commendations for their contributions to law enforcement. On March 15, 2024, Sheriff Sadler presented Letters of Commendation to Sgt. Tony Goodpaster, Deputy Shaun Caffee with K9 Ceto, and Deputy Cody Phillips during a ceremony that underscored the importance of their work in ensuring public safety.

The commendations stem from notable incidents demonstrating the deputies’ commitment and bravery. Sgt. Goodpaster was acknowledged for his successful recovery of a stolen vehicle and the arrest of multiple armed suspects involved in the incident. His actions not only retrieved stolen property but also contributed to the safety of the community.

Deputy Caffee, in partnership with K9 Ceto, played a crucial role in apprehending an armed suspect following a foot chase. The teamwork between the deputy and his canine partner proved vital in ensuring a safe resolution to a potentially dangerous situation.

In another significant action, Deputy Phillips conducted a traffic stop that led to the seizure of a substantial quantity of illegal drugs and several firearms. This operation not only disrupted criminal activity but also highlighted the proactive measures taken by law enforcement to combat drug-related offenses.
