Colony Church Celebrates Christmas with Messages of Love and Joy

Colony Church marked the Christmas season with a heartfelt service on December 24, 2023, emphasizing themes of love and joy. Pastor Chase Riebel delivered a powerful message titled “Love Came Down,” drawing inspiration from John 15:13. He highlighted the profound sacrifice of Jesus, stating, “There is no greater love than to lay down your life for others.” Riebel reminded attendees that Jesus willingly gave His life, fully aware of the imperfections of those He came to save.

In a reflective moment, Bruce Symes shared insights on the life of a shepherd, drawing connections to the biblical narrative of the first Christmas. He described a shepherd’s role as one of guidance and protection, leading sheep to calm waters and lush pastures. The shepherds, initially frightened by the appearance of an angel, found comfort in the message of good tidings—the announcement of a newborn baby, wrapped in swaddling cloth and lying in a manger.

The service was enriched by music led by Lexy Langworthy, who performed a selection of traditional carols. The congregation sang along to “First Noel,” followed by “King of Kings,” “Hark the Herald Angels Sing,” and “O Come All Ye Faithful.” These songs resonated within the church, enhancing the communal spirit of the celebration.

As the service concluded, the atmosphere was filled with a sense of hope and togetherness, reflecting the significance of the season. The messages shared by Pastor Riebel and Bruce Symes, combined with the worship led by Lexy Langworthy, created a meaningful experience for all attendees at Colony Church.

This Christmas gathering not only celebrated the birth of Jesus but also reinforced the importance of love and community within the congregation. The emphasis on shared joy and connection serves as a reminder of the values that bind the church together during this festive time.
