UPDATE: A suspect has been arrested just hours after a deadly shooting in Balch Springs, Texas. Authorities confirm that Tyrus Lynn McKnight, 24, was taken into custody less than 11 hours after the fatal incident, which occurred on December 21, 2025.

At approximately 8:23 PM, Balch Springs Police received a distress call reporting gunfire at an apartment complex located in the 12000 block of Quail Drive.
