URGENT UPDATE: Two individuals were shot in a drive-by incident while driving in north Harris County late Monday night. Authorities from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) report that the shooting occurred around 11:15 p.m. as the victims traveled along Cypresswood Drive near FM 1960.
Emergency responders were called to a nearby gas station following reports that a woman had been shot in the chest. The victim, identified as a passenger in a silver SUV, was critically injured. The male driver of the vehicle was also shot, sustaining a gunshot wound to the wrist.
Video footage obtained by ABC13 reveals a bullet hole piercing through the passenger side window, highlighting the severity of the attack. HCSO Sgt. Ryan indicated that the motive for the shooting remains unclear, stating, “This could just be a random road rage issue. It could be something related to a domestic issue. Those aspects are unclear at this time.”
Authorities are actively reviewing surveillance video from the area in hopes of uncovering vital details about the incident. Fortunately, both the man and woman were transported to a local hospital and are expected to survive their injuries.
