Massachusetts Man Arrested After Chaotic Series of Crashes

UPDATE: A Massachusetts man was arrested following a chaotic series of crashes in Portsmouth and Rye earlier today. Adam Krahe, from Beverly, Massachusetts, faces multiple felony charges after wreaking havoc with his truck, according to a statement from Portsmouth Police Lt. Jordan Wells.

The incidents began around 9:30 a.m., capturing the attention of law enforcement as a smoking vehicle came to a stop on Lafayette Road in Rye. Witnesses described seeing the severely damaged truck, with Krahe refusing to exit, prompting officers to break a window to remove him. Traffic was halted for two hours during the police response to the scene.

While no injuries were reported, the series of crashes resulted in significant property damage, underscoring the urgency of the situation. Authorities commended the collaborative efforts of local police departments that swiftly managed the unfolding chaos. The Rye Police Department led the response, supported by officers from Portsmouth Police, New Hampshire State Police, North Hampton Police, and the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Department.

Krahe now faces serious legal repercussions, including two counts of felony reckless conduct, two counts of felony criminal mischief, two counts of misdemeanor criminal conduct, and charges related to reckless operation and a traffic control device. Following his arrest, he was transported to a hospital, later released on bail, and is expected to appear in court in March.
