Schuylkill Haven Wrestling Team Defeated by Northern Lehigh

Schuylkill Haven’s wrestling team faced a challenging match on November 13, 2023, as they traveled to Northern Lehigh for a duel. The Hurricanes suffered a defeat, losing to the Bulldogs with a final score of 44-28. This dual featured a total of 13 matches, with Northern Lehigh securing victory in eight of them.

The Bulldogs showcased their strength with three wins by fall, two by forfeit, one by decision, one by technical fall, and one by disqualification. Conversely, Schuylkill Haven managed to claim five match wins, including three by fall, one through major decision, and one due to a Northern Lehigh forfeit.

The match commenced with Schuylkill Haven gaining an early lead as Trayten Hasenauer was awarded a forfeit victory at 107 pounds. The Hurricanes continued to build momentum with a notable win at 121 pounds. Dylan Benulis pinned his opponent, Javian Mercada, in 2:52.

At 145 pounds, Schuylkill Haven added another win when Jack Krammes achieved a pin against Zachery Gosart in 2:25. The Hurricanes followed this with a victory at 215 pounds, where Niko Carestia pinned Dawson Newhard in just 1:43. Triston Davis rounded out the scoring for Schuylkill Haven at 285 pounds, winning by major decision against Isaac Jackovitz with a score of 13-5.

Northern Lehigh’s performance featured several standout moments. Noah Gosart began their scoring with a quick pin of McKenzie Blevins at 114 pounds in only 43 seconds. Following this, Conner Whalen pinned Maddex Holtke in 1:59 at 127 pounds.

In addition, Andrew Rudolph secured a win via disqualification at 139 pounds against Frank Costenbader. The Bulldogs also benefited from forfeit victories, with Skyler Loos at 252 pounds and Mason Rothrock at 160 pounds both earning points for their team. Furthermore, Jaxon Bower showcased his skills with a decisive technical fall victory over Kytle Javorka at 172 pounds, finishing with a score of 21-4. Lastly, Conner Arrigo edged past Bryce Reber at 189 pounds, securing a narrow win of 11-10.
