Full-Time Light Equipment Operator Role
The department’s primary focus is the hiring of a full-time light equipment operator. This position is crucial as it involves operating and maintaining various types of equipment essential for the upkeep of city parks and ball fields. Responsibilities include mowing park property, setting up and lining ball fields, transporting equipment and materials, conducting safety inspections, and performing general maintenance tasks such as trash collection, restroom cleaning, spraying, carpentry, and basic plumbing and electrical work.
Candidates applying for the light equipment operator position must have proficiency in operating assigned equipment and using hand and power tools. Effective communication skills, both oral and written, are necessary, and applicants must be able to attend required meetings and pass a drug screening. The entry-level pay for this position is $14.78 per hour, with work hours that may vary, and some overtime and call-ins could be required.
Seasonal Employment Opportunities
In addition to the full-time role, Hanceville Parks and Recreation is also seeking seasonal employees. These positions will support the department’s operations during peak usage periods. The seasonal roles available include work at the concession stand, maintenance tasks, and lifeguarding duties.
