HOTWORX Raises Over $63,000 to Support Veterans Battling Breast Cancer

HOTWORX, the innovative 24-hour infrared fitness studio franchise, successfully concluded its 2025 “Workouts for Heroes” campaign, raising a total of $63,253.42 to assist U.S. veterans and military women facing breast cancer. The campaign, which ran for two months, garnered contributions from members, franchisees, and the corporate office, with proceeds evenly divided between the Sacred Mountain Retreat Center (SMRC) and the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF). Each organization received $31,626.71 to support their missions.

Stephen P. Smith, Founder and CEO of HOTWORX, expressed pride in the campaign’s achievements. “These numbers represent far more than dollars raised. They represent thousands of individual acts of generosity from our members, franchisees, and corporate team,” he stated. Smith emphasized that the campaign illustrates the potential of a united fitness community committed to making a difference in the lives of veterans and military women.

Campaign Highlights and Community Impact

The “Workouts for Heroes” campaign combined HOTWORX’s annual Breast Cancer Awareness initiatives, mobilizing participants nationwide. Through the use of Dedication Ribbons, limited-edition pink merchandise, and a matching corporate donation, the initiative showcased a systemwide commitment to community support.

Funds directed to SMRC will help finance restorative retreats aimed at promoting the physical and emotional recovery of veterans and first responders. Meanwhile, donations to NBCF’s Military Women’s Patient Relief Fund will assist military women undergoing breast cancer treatment by covering essential non-medical expenses such as childcare, transportation, and lodging.

The campaign’s success was bolstered by local fundraising efforts at various HOTWORX studios across the country. The Clive, Iowa (University Ave) location emerged as a standout studio, recognized for its exceptional fundraising efforts. Following closely were studios in Gonzales, Louisiana, and Roswell, New Mexico.

Katie McDonald, franchise owner of the HOTWORX Clive (University Ave) location, remarked on the community’s engagement. “Our members showed up in such a big way for this campaign,” she said. “It was inspiring to see our community rally together to support veterans and military women facing incredibly difficult circumstances. This is what HOTWORX is all about: strength, compassion, and community.”
