Melania Trump’s Documentary Slammed as ‘Farce’ Ahead of Release

UPDATE: Just hours before its much-anticipated release, Melania Trump’s documentary has been denounced as a “farce” by a prominent Hollywood expert. The film, titled “Melania,” premiered Thursday evening at the rebranded Trump Kennedy Center, with former President Donald Trump in attendance alongside the First Lady.

Entertainment journalist Segun Oduolowu appeared on “CNN This Morning” to express skepticism about the documentary’s financial viability. He noted that the staggering $40 million price tag paid by Amazon MGM Studios is “unheard of” for a documentary, especially when most sell for between $250,000 to $750,000.

“The money is what you have to follow,” Oduolowu stated, highlighting the unusual nature of the investment. With $35 million allocated for advertising, he questioned the logic behind a project expected to generate only $1 million to $2 million in its opening week, calling such financial calculations “unusual” and suggesting they “scream payoff.”

Despite the high-profile subject matter, Oduolowu predicted a challenging reception from both audiences and critics. Social media has already shown signs of lackluster ticket sales, further fueling doubts about the film’s commercial success.

“It’s not going to make money,” Oduolowu asserted. “But it already made money for the people involved. Melania is walking away very happy with $27 million or $28 million.”

As the documentary prepares for its debut, Oduolowu warned that while it may not generate significant box office revenue, it will likely find a home on Amazon’s streaming platform. “It’s going to stream on Amazon, where the propaganda machine can keep it going,” he remarked, questioning the premise of the film that suggests Melania and Donald Trump are preparing to return to the White House.

With the film’s release imminent, many are left wondering about its real impact. As Oduolowu noted, “What is she, packing boxes? It’s a farce.” The documentary’s future remains uncertain as the entertainment world closely watches its reception.
