UPDATE: Fans of Netflix’s hit series Bridgerton can now visit the stunning filming location of Benedict Bridgerton’s cottage, just announced to be open to the public again this spring. With the new season premiering on January 29, 2023, viewers are excited to explore the countryside estate featured prominently in the show.
In Season 4, Episode 3, Benedict, played by Luke Thompson, finds romance with newcomer Sophie Baek, portrayed by Yerin Ha. Their adventures lead them to a grand cottage referred to as “My Cottage,” where they seek refuge during a rainstorm. The cottage is described as far more than a quaint getaway, prompting Sophie to remark, “‘Cottage’ feels somewhat misleading,” given its size and lavish features, including guest rooms, a library, and beautiful gardens.
Filming for these enchanting scenes took place over two weeks, with Thompson remarking on the magic of the experience. “It was just us two and then the housekeepers,” he shared with Tudum. “It was magical, and [Yerin and I] were just getting to know each other as actors as well as the characters.”
The real-life location, Loseley Park, located in Surrey, England, is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes from London and welcomes visitors throughout the year. Although the home and gardens are currently closed for winter, they will reopen in spring, with tickets priced at $16 for garden access and $29 for the full estate experience.
During your visit, you can stroll through the stunning grounds where Benedict and Sophie fly a kite or see the room featuring his unfinished paintings. For those wanting to soak up the Bridgerton magic longer, overnight stays at Loseley Park are also an option, with rates available upon inquiry through email.
Additionally, the estate will offer a festive Christmas tour later in the year at rates between $21 and $27, which includes a glass of mulled wine or hot chocolate paired with a classic mince pie.
As fans eagerly plan their trips to visit Benedict’s cottage, it’s clear that this enchanting estate is a must-see for anyone looking to dive deeper into the Bridgerton universe. Don’t miss the chance to explore this iconic filming location on your next trip to England.
