Yutan’s Jordyn Campbell Makes History with 200th Win!

BREAKING: In a groundbreaking achievement, Jordyn Campbell of Yutan, Nebraska, has become the first girl in the state to reach 200 career wins in wrestling. This historic milestone was confirmed at the Cedar Bluffs Invite held in late January, marking a significant moment since the NSAA sanctioned girls wrestling in May 2021.

“I never thought that I would be where I’m at today,” Campbell reflected, recalling her early days of wrestling. The two-time NSAA state champion not only reached this remarkable win but also set another state record by achieving her 177th career pin during the same tournament, breaking the previous record for most pins in Nebraska history.

Campbell’s coach, Dan Krajicek, praised her dedication, stating, “It’s just a culmination of moment after moment.” He emphasized that Campbell’s achievements are a testament to her consistent hard work and focused mentality. “It just kind of puts a cherry on the top of everything she’s been working for,” he added.

Despite her success, Campbell maintains a humble approach to her wrestling style. “It’s just cut and dry, get things done. Super boring, but very effective,” she described her technique. Krajicek humorously noted that her approach is “amazingly boring,” yet incredibly effective as she consistently pins her opponents using fundamental moves.

The excitement surrounding Campbell’s achievements is palpable as she gears up for the upcoming girls state tournament, scheduled to begin on February 17, 2026, at the CHI Health Center in Omaha. Campbell’s recent victory at the B-1 district championship at 135 pounds on February 7 further solidifies her quest for a third consecutive state title.

“It was just super surreal to feel that and hear that,” Campbell shared, expressing her emotional response to reaching these milestones. “I’m just super grateful for everyone that was there.”

As the wrestling community rallies behind her, Campbell’s story serves as an inspiration for athletes everywhere. The impact of her achievements extends beyond the mat, showcasing the dedication and perseverance required to break barriers in sports.

Stay tuned for live updates as Campbell competes for her third state title and continues to make history in Nebraska wrestling.
