Arlington Police Arrest Suspect in 2021 Murder of Kier Solomon

UPDATE: Arlington Police have arrested a suspect in the shocking 2021 murder of transgender woman Kier Solomon. Detectives apprehended 25-year-old Arthur Morris Jr. while he was serving time in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for an unrelated crime. He now faces one count of murder, according to the Arlington Police Department.

On September 30, 2021, Solomon’s life was tragically cut short when officers discovered her fatally shot inside her vehicle at an apartment complex on Stonetrail Road. Despite rapid medical attention, she succumbed to her injuries, leaving her community in mourning and demanding justice.

Following a painstaking four-year investigation, detectives connected Morris to the crime through phone records indicating that Solomon had been lured to the scene under the guise of meeting someone from an app. This same pattern of behavior, where victims were contacted via an app and then met at the Stonetrail complex, raised suspicions about Morris.

In a significant breakthrough, another victim reported a similar encounter involving robbery and aggravated assault weeks before Solomon’s murder, further implicating Morris. By September 2025, detectives had gathered compelling evidence, including email and phone connections that placed Morris at the crime scene “before, during, and after the murder,” as detailed by the Arlington Police Department.

Chief of Police Al Jones praised the relentless efforts of his detectives, stating, “This investigation truly highlights the persistence and dedication of our detectives.” He acknowledged the complexities of the case, emphasizing the department’s unwavering commitment to justice, saying, “Sometimes we get that big break in a case right away and other times we don’t. What never changes, though, is our commitment to delivering justice for victims of crime.”

Currently, Morris is detained at a facility in Childress, Texas, awaiting transfer to Tarrant County for his arraignment. The tireless work of the Arlington detectives marks a pivotal moment in a case that has deeply affected the community. As justice begins to take shape for Solomon, her story continues to resonate, highlighting the urgent need for accountability in violent crimes against marginalized individuals.

The Arlington Police Department is urging anyone with additional information to come forward, as the investigation remains active. The community watches closely, hopeful for justice to prevail in the wake of this tragedy.
