Fargo-Moorhead St. Patrick’s Day Parade Draws 10,000 Despite Storm Threats

UPDATE: The 29th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Fargo-Moorhead has successfully brought together the community, attracting over 10,000 attendees despite looming storm threats. The festivities kicked off at 10:30 A.M. with more than 300 runners participating in 5k and 10k races along the parade route.

Just after 11 A.M., the parade commenced, featuring a vibrant array of floats and marchers making their way from Center Avenue in Moorhead to Broadway in Fargo. Parade organizers implemented extra safety measures to ensure clear roads, and their efforts paid off as the weather held up for the event.

“This has been a perfect day,” said Rocky Schneider of the Downtown Community Partnership. “Weather held up, community came out, all the floats, the runners ahead of time – where else can you have thousands of people come out and march and just enjoy the community?” His statement highlights the strong community spirit that defines this annual celebration.

In preparation for the parade, the organizing team worked diligently to clear any last remnants of snow and ice. The successful event showcases the resilience and enthusiasm of Fargo-Moorhead residents, who braved the uncertainty of the weather to participate in this cherished local tradition.

As the excitement of the parade settles, community members are left with lasting memories of a day filled with joy and connection. Next year’s parade promises to be even bigger, as organizers aim to build on this year’s success and continue fostering community engagement.
