UPDATE: An illegal immigrant has been arrested in Dallas after a shocking TikTok video surfaced, offering $10,000 bounties for the murder of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirmed the arrest of Eduardo Aguilar, a Mexican national, on October 14, 2023.
Authorities report that Aguilar, who illegally entered the U.S. in 2018, posted a Spanish-language video calling for “10 dudes in Dallas with determination who aren’t afraid to [two skull emojis].” This alarming call to violence led to his immediate apprehension.
DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin stated, “Thanks to the quick work of law enforcement, this illegal alien who was offering $10,000 cash bounties for the murder of ICE law enforcement is in custody and facing federal charges.” She emphasized the threats faced by ICE agents, noting they are subjected to ambushes, terrorist attacks, and death threats while enforcing U.S. laws.
Aguilar was found in possession of a loaded 9mm handgun at the time of his arrest, a felony for illegal immigrants in the U.S. He now faces federal charges for transmitting threats across state lines. Previously, Aguilar had been charged with liquor law violations.
The DHS highlighted a disturbing trend, revealing that Mexican cartels have been targeting ICE personnel with escalating violence. Reports indicate that cartels are offering up to $50,000 for the assassination of high-ranking ICE officials, with $2,000 bounties for intelligence gathering and $5,000-$10,000 for non-lethal assaults.
In a related incident, a TikTok video shared by DHS displayed threats against ICE officers, stating, “Word in the streets cartels put a $50K bounty on y’all.” The DHS has made it clear: “If you threaten or lay hands on our law enforcement officers, we will hunt you down.”
Recent legal actions have been initiated against individuals making threats to ICE officers. A federal grand jury has charged two men for threatening an ICE agent and his family through social media. One suspect, Frank Andrew Waszut, publicly identified the officer and incited violence against him, calling for a “cell block one treatment,” which refers to physical harm in detention.
The threats extend beyond individuals to families of law enforcement, with domestic terrorists like Antifa reportedly targeting them. DHS has also shared audio clips of threatening calls directed at the families of ICE officers, drawing chilling comparisons to historical atrocities.
These developments underscore the urgent need for heightened security and vigilance in protecting law enforcement personnel. The situation remains fluid, and further updates are expected as investigations continue.
