URGENT UPDATE: Warren police are actively searching for a vehicle involved in a serious hit-and-run incident that critically injured a 12-year-old child on Monday evening. The incident occurred around 5 p.m. near 13 Mile and Moceri Circle, just west of Schoenherr.
Authorities report that the child was riding a minibike when the vehicle struck them, leading to significant injuries. Currently, the child is in serious but stable condition, according to police sources.
Investigators believe the vehicle, described as a newer-model Chevy Equinox in gray or black, fled the scene heading west on 13 Mile Rd. Police are now reviewing video footage from the area and interviewing witnesses to gather more information.
Warren Police are urging anyone with information or video footage of the incident to come forward.
“We need the community’s help to identify this vehicle and ensure justice for the child involved,”
said Det. M. Accivatti, who is leading the investigation.
