BREAKING: Five individuals are hospitalized following a serious crash in Minot, Maine, this morning. At approximately 8:13 a.m. on July 12, 2023, a pickup truck collided with a downed tree before striking an SUV on Center Minot Hill Road, according to the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office.
The driver of the pickup truck, Sherwood Jordan, aged 73 from Bethel, lost control of his 1989 Ford F-150 after hitting the tree. The impact caused him to cross the centerline and collide head-on with a 2025 Toyota RAV4, which was being driven by Howie Wu, a 16-year-old from Brooklyn, New York.
Jordan was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and was partially ejected from the vehicle. His passenger, Mitzie Naples, was also injured in the crash. Both Jordan and Naples, along with Wu and his two passengers, were quickly transported to local hospitals for treatment.
The crash is under ongoing investigation, and authorities have not released further details at this time. The situation remains fluid, and officials are urging anyone with information to come forward.
