URGENT UPDATE: Significant lane closures on U.S. Route 422 are set to disrupt travel starting Monday, November 17. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has confirmed ongoing roadway and bridge reconstruction, prompting critical travel restrictions that motorists must heed.
From November 17 to 21, lane closures will occur daily from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. on westbound U.S. 422 between the Sanatoga (Evergreen Road) and Armand Hammer Boulevard interchanges. Eastbound traffic will also face restrictions during the same period, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., impacting the stretch between the Armand Hammer Boulevard and Sanatoga interchanges.
Motorists should be aware that Sanatoga Road remains closed and detoured between Linfield Road and High Street until December 1. This closure is necessary for the demolition of the westbound side of the bridge over U.S. 422. Drivers are advised to utilize High Street, Evergreen Road, and Linfield Road as alternate routes.
Travelers are urged to allow extra time for their journeys, as significant backups and delays are anticipated around these work zones. All activities are weather-dependent, so conditions may affect the schedule.
This construction is part of a vital $83.6 million PennDOT project aimed at reconstructing and enhancing approximately 2.1 miles of the expressway. The project encompasses the areas between the Sanatoga Interchange and Porter Road in Lower Pottsgrove Township.
Stay tuned for further updates as this project progresses and ensure your travel plans accommodate these critical changes. Share this information with fellow commuters to help them navigate the upcoming disruptions efficiently.
