URGENT UPDATE: A 26-year-old man was arrested in Salt Lake City following a shocking incident on Saturday night where he allegedly struck another driver with his car after being rear-ended. The events unfolded near 5600 West and Amelia Earhart Drive, as police report that the man refused to cooperate with the driver who hit him.

According to police booking affidavits, the victim of the rear-end collision approached the man to exchange information. Instead of complying, the man reportedly yelled at the victim, escalating tensions. The victim began recording the altercation, capturing crucial evidence as he tried to insist on exchanging details.

In a startling turn, while the victim was near the front of the man’s car, the suspect abruptly put the vehicle into drive and struck him, causing injuries to the victim’s hand. The man then fled the scene, but not before the victim managed to document his license plate and record video evidence.

Police swiftly located the suspect at his residence, where they discovered an open container of alcohol in the center console of his vehicle. During questioning, the man admitted to leaving the scene, claiming he did not see damage on his car and needed to return home for “classes.”
