Lesley University celebrated its 2025 Hall of Fame class, recognizing the outstanding contributions of Kaitlyn Wechsler, a coach at Lynn Tech and former student-athlete. Wechsler’s induction highlights her remarkable achievements in both basketball and volleyball, along with her academic excellence.
Wechsler’s Athletic Achievements
During her time at Lesley University, Wechsler established herself as a formidable competitor. She graduated as the all-time leading scorer for the basketball program, amassing 1,471 points and achieving a career shooting percentage of 47.8%. In addition to her scoring prowess, she recorded 486 rebounds, 160 steals, 151 assists, and 28 blocks.
Her consistent performance earned her All-Conference selection for all four years, and in 2011, she made history as the first player in the program to be invited to the New England Women’s Basketball Association Senior All-Star Game. Wechsler was instrumental in leading the team to back-to-back New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) titles in 2009 and 2010, contributing to two consecutive seasons with 17 wins, a record that still stands.
Volleyball Career and Teaching Impact
Wechsler’s athletic talent extended to volleyball, where she joined the team in her sophomore year. Over three seasons, she played in 77 matches and achieved 445 kills, 295 digs, and 126 blocks. Her contributions were vital in securing the 2008 conference championship and another title in 2010, solidifying her legacy as a two-sport champion.
Beyond her athletic achievements, Wechsler pursued a degree in education and is now a respected teacher at Julia F. Callahan School in Lynn. Her impact on students and the community continues to be significant.
Lesley Athletic Director Dan Campagna expressed enthusiasm for the Hall of Fame event, stating, “The Lesley athletic department was elated to combine this year’s Hall of Fame event with Lesley’s Fall Weekend.” He noted the positive atmosphere, which allowed current student-athletes to engage with the inductees, enhancing the experience for all involved. “It’s quickly becoming one of my favorite Lesley traditions and I think it will continue to get even better each year,” Campagna added.
Wechsler’s induction into the Hall of Fame not only honors her athletic prowess but also reflects her commitment to education and community service, setting a powerful example for current and future athletes.
