Marin Academy’s Colpitts Shines in 54-25 Win Over Terra Linda

BREAKING: Marin Academy’s girls basketball team dominated Terra Linda in a resounding 54-25 victory during their home opener on Friday night. Sterling Colpitts delivered a stellar performance, racking up 17 points while Penelope Lee added 10 points and showcased exceptional perimeter defense.

The Wildcats now stand at 2-0 for the season, following a strong all-around effort from Grace Kawaja, who chipped in five points. In contrast, the Trojans, now 0-1, struggled to keep pace, with Barbara Cifuentes leading the team with 10 points.

In another thrilling matchup, Amara Bailey was instrumental for San Domenico, recording 10 points, eight rebounds, seven steals, and three assists in a 41-28 win over Drew on Thursday night in Sleepy Hollow. Meanwhile, Sarah Gordon led the Panthers with 16 points, four rebounds, and three blocks.

In girls soccer, Branson continued their offensive surge with a decisive 9-0 win over Will C. Wood, marking their second consecutive blowout to start the season. Gat Howell netted two goals, and Julia Myerberg contributed a goal and three assists. The Bulls showcased depth, with Anya Sridharan, Kara Kandakulam, and Sadie Saavedra each adding goals.

In a tightly contested match, Marin Catholic managed a 1-1 draw against Maria Carrillo, highlighted by a goal from Nora Snearly. Goalkeepers Joanie Caraluggio and Brooklyn Blackman combined for a solid defensive effort.

In women’s basketball, the College of Marin cruised to a commanding 75-32 victory over Diablo Valley on Thursday. The Mariners, now 3-3, overwhelmed their opponents, leading by an astonishing 32 points at halftime. Jaidyn Brown and Brooklyn Carter each scored 10 points, while Sierra Calantas contributed nine points and four steals. Ayah Abbassy shined off the bench with five points and eight rebounds.
