Man Charged with Forcible Rape Outside Mountain Top Bar

URGENT UPDATE: A man has been charged with forcibly raping a woman outside of a bar in Nuangola, Pennsylvania, early Sunday morning. Thomas Joseph Quinn II, aged 29, is accused of the violent crime occurring outside the Wheels Bar & Grill at 5222 Nuangola Road shortly after 1:15 a.m.

According to police reports, the victim contacted law enforcement in distress, stating she had been raped inside Quinn’s silver pickup truck. After leaving the bar, she entered Quinn’s vehicle to talk, but things quickly escalated as he allegedly became aggressive. The victim described a harrowing encounter where Quinn overpowered her, attempting to force himself on her until she managed to escape the truck, screaming for help.

Two bystanders witnessed the incident and rushed to assist the woman. One of the men confronted Quinn, who fled the scene despite attempts to detain him. Authorities with the Plains Township Police apprehended Quinn shortly thereafter on the Cross Valley Expressway. When questioned, he refused to speak and requested an attorney.

Quinn faces serious charges including rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with forcible compulsion, and sexual assault. He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Donald L. Whittaker, who set bail at $100,000. Court records indicate that Quinn posted bail through a bondsman and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on December 4.
