DART to Suspend Train Service in Downtown Dallas for Safety Maintenance

Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) will halt train service in the Central Business District (CBD) of downtown Dallas for safety maintenance on the night of December 10, 2023. The suspension will begin at 21:30 and is expected to end with the restoration of regular service by 04:00 on December 11, 2023. This planned maintenance requires the temporary shutdown of a portion of the transit system.

During this period, train operations will continue on certain lines but will be limited. The Red Line will operate between Parker Road and SMU/Mockingbird stations, as well as between EBJ Union and Westmoreland stations. The Blue Line will run between Downtown Rowlett and SMU/Mockingbird, and between EBJ Union and UNT Dallas stations. For the Green Line, trains will serve routes between Baylor and Buckner, and between Victory and North Carrollton/Frankford stations. The Orange Line will provide service exclusively between Victory and DFW Airport stations.

To facilitate access to Parker Road, riders will need to transfer to a Red Line train at SMU/Mockingbird. Notably, Silver Line trains will operate as scheduled and will not be affected by the maintenance work.

DART will implement shuttle bus services every 20 minutes to assist passengers during the service suspension. Green Line riders can transfer to a shuttle bus at either Victory or Baylor Station, which will make stops at Victory, West End, Pearl/Arts District, Deep Ellum, and Baylor stations. Passengers on the Red, Blue, and Orange Lines should transfer at either EBJ Union or SMU/Mockingbird Station, with shuttle stops at EBJ Union, West End, Akard, St. Paul, Pearl/Arts District, CityPlace/Uptown, and SMU/Mockingbird stations.

DART encourages all riders planning to travel through the CBD on Wednesday evening to prepare accordingly. Travelers may need to adjust their plans as some trips could take longer than usual due to the service changes. To ensure safety and provide assistance, DART staff, volunteers, and police officers will be present at stations during the maintenance period.
