Dutch Bros Celebrates 1,111 Locations with First Los Angeles Outlet

Dutch Bros has officially opened its first location in the city of Los Angeles, marking a significant milestone as the coffee chain expands its footprint across the United States. The new outlet, located at 3726 S Figueroa St. near the University of Southern California (USC), is the company’s 1,111th location.

This 1,300-square-foot shop was developed through a collaboration involving JLL representatives Shauna Mattis and Liam Bredberg, who managed the landlord’s interests, along with Xan Saks and Alex Kogan of Beta Agency, who represented Dutch Bros. The outlet features a walk-up window, catering to the bustling local community.

In a statement, regional operator Brady Benner expressed enthusiasm about the opening. “I could not be more grateful for the opportunity to bring Dutch Bros Coffee to Los Angeles,” he said. “Bringing this location to Exposition Park and the greater Los Angeles community means we will have a space to bring love and light to each person we meet every day. We can’t wait to serve you, L.A. – see you soon!”

The expansion into Los Angeles represents a strategic move for Dutch Bros, a rapidly growing coffee chain founded in 1992 by Dane and Travis Boersma. The company, which began in Grants Pass, Oregon, is now headquartered in Tempe, Arizona, and focuses primarily on drive-through service, with a large concentration of its locations in the western United States.

In October 2018, Dutch Bros secured a minority investment from private equity firm TSG Consumer Partners, which facilitated plans for rapid expansion. The company aimed to increase its store count to 800 by 2023. Following its initial public offering (IPO) on September 15, 2021, Dutch Bros raised approximately $484 million by selling around 21 million shares at $23 each. The funds raised are intended to address the company’s long-term debt of $192 million.

As Dutch Bros continues to grow, its entry into Los Angeles is poised to enhance the brand’s visibility in one of the largest coffee markets in the United States. The company’s commitment to community engagement and quality service remains at the forefront of its mission, promising a warm welcome to its new clientele in L.A.
