Fremantle has announced significant additions to its executive team, appointing Jhamal Robinson and Emily Knight to pivotal roles within the company’s television division. Robinson takes on the position of head of U.S. productions, overseeing both scripted and unscripted projects, while Knight steps in as senior vice president of unscripted development.
In his new role, Robinson will be responsible for managing all U.S.-based physical production for Fremantle. He will also spearhead strategic planning and execution for the studio’s programming. Previously, he served as executive vice president of physical production and head of AI studio for A+E Global Media. Robinson will report directly to Suzanne Lopez, Chief Operating Officer of Fremantle North America.
“Fremantle is poised for growth, and as our production slate continues to expand in both scale and ambition, it’s essential that our leadership team evolves alongside it,” Lopez stated. “Adding these two exceptional executives will help ensure that Fremantle remains at the forefront of delivering groundbreaking programming across every platform.”
Robinson expressed enthusiasm about joining Fremantle, stating, “Fremantle has an extraordinary creative legacy and a robust slate across both unscripted and scripted programming. I look forward to partnering with the team to align production and creative pipelines in ways that support our studios and continue delivering premium content for audiences across all viewing platforms.”
Knight joins Fremantle from AGC Studios, where she held the position of senior vice president of development. At Fremantle, she will report to Jimmy Fox, the executive vice president of unscripted development and sales. Her role will focus on identifying and developing unscripted formats suitable for global distribution.
“Fremantle is synonymous with world-class unscripted television, and the opportunity to work alongside Jimmy is incredible,” Knight remarked. “His creative instincts and appetite for scale align perfectly with how I approach development, and I’m so excited to help build the next generation of standout global formats with the fantastic team here.”
With these strategic hires, Fremantle aims to strengthen its leadership and enhance its capacity to deliver innovative content, responding to the growing demand for diverse programming in today’s media landscape. As the company continues to expand its reach across various platforms, the integration of Robinson and Knight into its executive team marks a significant step forward in its commitment to producing high-quality television.
