Among these initiatives, GCEDC is also working to establish a major $11.1 billion data center at the WNY Science & Technology Advanced Manufacturing Park, with plans to commence operations in 2026.

According to the GCEDC’s 2025 annual report, the geographical distribution of these projects highlights their impact across various communities. Specifically, four projects were located in the city of Batavia, another four in Le Roy, two in the town of Byron, and one each in the town of Batavia and the town of Bergen. This distribution reflects the agency’s commitment to fostering economic development throughout the region.

The data center, once operational, is expected to create numerous job opportunities and enhance the local economy significantly. With its extensive capital investment, this project represents one of the largest initiatives in the area, promising to elevate the region’s technological infrastructure.

The GCEDC’s ongoing efforts not only enhance the economic landscape but also aim to improve the quality of life for residents in Genesee County. By attracting diverse businesses and investments, the agency is helping to create a more vibrant community, fostering innovation and opportunity for local residents.

As the region prepares for the data center’s establishment, stakeholders remain optimistic about the long-term benefits that these projects will bring. The collaborative efforts of local governments, businesses, and the GCEDC are vital for sustaining economic growth and ensuring a prosperous future for Genesee County.
