Oneida County Health Department Moves to New Office Location

The Oneida County Health Department (OCHD) has officially relocated its offices from the Adirondack Bank Building at 185 Genesee St. to the Oneida County Office Building at 800 Park Ave., both situated in Utica. This move aims to enhance coordination of services and streamline operations, according to Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente Jr..

“Centralizing these Health Department offices at the County Office Building will allow us to better coordinate services, strengthen internal operations, and make it easier for residents and partners to access the resources they need,” Picente stated. He further emphasized the financial benefits of the relocation, noting that it will save taxpayer dollars by consolidating space and reducing operational expenses.

Details of the Relocation and Services Affected

The new OCHD offices will house various departments, including Administration, Special Children Services, Health Promotion, and Environmental Health. Importantly, the phone numbers for these departments will remain unchanged, ensuring continuous communication for residents.

While there are no alterations to the service delivery for Administration, Special Children Services, or Health Promotion, the relocation does impact in-person services provided by the Environmental Health Department. Operators of permitted facilities, such as restaurants and hotels, are now required to mail or deliver permit applications and payments to the Oneida County Office Building.

Additionally, any rabies or animal specimens must be directed to the new office location. Individuals are advised to arrange these deliveries in advance by calling (315) 798-5064. This phone number should also be used for any discussions related to testing.

Continuity of Clinic Services

Despite the changes, clinic services offered by the OCHD will continue without interruption. Clinics will maintain their hours at 406 Elizabeth St. in Utica, operating Monday through Friday. Specific clinic hours will also be available at designated times in Rome.
