As Thanksgiving approaches, several meetings scheduled across Humboldt County have been canceled. The cancellations affect various boards, commissions, and councils, altering the local civic calendar for the upcoming week.
Cancelled Meetings Across the County
The Arcata Planning Commission, which typically convenes on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month, will not hold its meeting on November 28, 2023, at 5:30 p.m. The session was set to take place at City Hall Council Chamber, located at 736 F St., Arcata.
Similarly, the Fortuna Planning Commission has canceled its meeting scheduled for November 28, 2023, at 6 p.m. This meeting usually occurs at City Hall Council Chambers, 621 11th St., Fortuna.
The Humboldt Community Services District will also not meet on November 28, 2023, at 5 p.m. The meeting location is 5055 Walnut Drive, Eureka.
Notably, the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors has canceled its regular Tuesday meeting for November 28, 2023, which typically starts at 9 a.m. This session is usually held at the Board of Supervisors’ chambers located at 825 Fifth St., Eureka.
Upcoming Meetings with Agendas
Despite the cancellations, the Blue Lake City Council plans to proceed with its meeting on November 28, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. This gathering will take place at 111 Greenwood Road, Blue Lake. The McKinleyville Municipal Advisory Committee is expected to meet on November 29, 2023, at 6 p.m. at McKinleyville Middle School, 2285 Central Ave., McKinleyville. The Redwood Coast Energy Authority will hold its meeting on November 27, 2023, at 3:30 p.m. at the Wharfinger Building, 1 Marina Way, Eureka. During this session, the board will consider several significant items, including the acceptance of the Diablo Canyon Power Plant nuclear allocation for 2026, an energy storage agreement with California Condor LLC, and agreements on energy prepayment transactions.
