The Cromwell Transitions to The Vanderpump Hotel, Closes Rooms Temporarily

The Cromwell hotel in Las Vegas is undergoing a major transformation as it prepares to rebrand as The Vanderpump Hotel. As part of this process, officials announced that the hotel will temporarily stop accepting guests beginning on March 22, 2024. While the hotel closes its doors to overnight visitors, the casino will remain operational throughout the transition.

As The Cromwell transitions into The Vanderpump Hotel, it will mark a collaboration with reality television star Lisa Vanderpump. This partnership is part of her expansion into the hospitality industry, following successful ventures with Caesars Entertainment, including the Vanderpump Cocktail Garden at Caesars Palace and Vanderpump à Paris at Paris Las Vegas.

Despite the confirmed closure for hotel guests, Caesars Entertainment has not disclosed how long the rebranding and refurbishment will take. An earlier indication suggested the process could last up to two months; however, delays have emerged, leading to uncertainties regarding the timeline. The initial refurbishment was expected to start in February, but Caesars has not provided reasons for the postponement.

Workers have already begun implementing changes, including removing The Cromwell’s branding from the property. Guests looking to enjoy the casino experience can do so without interruption, as it will remain open during the hotel’s temporary shutdown. Additionally, the property’s popular restaurant, Giada, will continue to serve diners throughout this period.

In a separate development, billionaire businessman Tilman Fertitta has expressed interest in acquiring Caesars Entertainment for approximately $7 billion, valuing shares at $34 each. While this acquisition is not yet finalized, it has potential implications for the American gaming landscape. Fertitta previously attempted a merger between Caesars and his own Golden Nugget casino in 2018, indicating a long-standing ambition in the industry. Analysts have noted that the proposed offer may undervalue Caesars’ overall business, raising questions about the future of the company.

As The Cromwell embarks on this significant change, the hospitality and gaming sectors are watching closely, particularly with the impending acquisition talks and what they might mean for the future of Caesars Entertainment.
