The Bucks County Playhouse in New Hope, Pennsylvania, has announced its 2026 season, featuring a diverse lineup of five productions that will run from February through January 2027. This season promises a blend of new works, classic American dramas, Broadway favorites, and a holiday-themed show.
The season kicks off on February 19, 2026, with the world premiere of “Starstruck,” a musical comedy that showcases the music of Emily Saliers from the renowned duo Indigo Girls. Set in a small town in Idaho, the story revolves around an astronomer and a bar owner who find themselves in conflict over a neon sign, with themes of romance and local politics intertwined.
Following this, Tennessee Williams’ acclaimed drama “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” will be staged from April 23 to May 23. This Pulitzer Prize-winning play delves into the complexities of a wealthy Southern family grappling with a troubled marriage and long-hidden secrets.
From June 18 to July 26, audiences can enjoy the classic musical “Rodgers & Hammerstein’s South Pacific.” Set against the backdrop of World War II, this romantic tale unfolds on a Pacific island and features beloved songs such as “Some Enchanted Evening.”
The lineup continues with the powerful rock musical “Rent,” which will run from August 13 to September 13. Written by Jonathan Larson, this production explores the lives of young artists navigating love, friendship, and survival in the vibrant yet challenging landscape of 1990s New York City.
Concluding the season, “Holiday Inn: The New Irving Berlin Musical” will be performed from November 19, 2026, to January 3, 2027. This festive production centers around a farmhouse that transforms into a seasonal entertainment venue, featuring classic Irving Berlin songs including “White Christmas.”
