The Borscht Belt Museum in Ellenville, New York, is set to host a lively stand-up comedy series featuring comedian and former dentist Jeffrey Gurian on January 17 and 18, 2024. This monthly comedy club series promises two entertaining events, showcasing Gurian alongside fellow performers.
The kickoff event will take place on January 17, at 8 p.m., at Shadowland Studios, located at 14 Market St. The evening will be hosted by David Lonstein, an Ellenville native. Gurian will share the stage with Beth Farber, a comedian from Brooklyn, and Allen Frishman, a plumber turned author and comedian with deep roots in the Catskills. Attendees can expect a “rollicking night of mirth and cocktails,” according to the museum’s announcement. General admission tickets are priced at $25, while premium seating is available for $40.
On January 18, Gurian will perform a second stand-up show at 2 p.m. at the Borscht Belt Museum, located at 90 Canal St. During this performance, he will share “tales of comedy lore and his secrets for finding joy amid adversity.” A suggested donation of $15 will be appreciated for this engaging session.
Gurian’s impressive background includes collaborations with comedy legends such as Jerry Lewis, Milton Berle, Jackie Mason, and Joan Rivers. His unique blend of comedy and personal storytelling is anticipated to resonate well with audiences.
