Jennifer Lawrence Discusses Relaxation Techniques During Filming

During a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, actress Jennifer Lawrence shared insights into how she managed to unwind while filming her upcoming movie, Die My Love. Directed by Lynne Ramsay, the film is set to be released on November 7, 2025, and explores the psychological turmoil of a new mother, Grace, played by Lawrence, who experiences a descent into psychosis after giving birth. Her husband, Jackson, is portrayed by Robert Pattinson, as he struggles with her changing behavior.

Filming While Pregnant

In conversation with co-star Sissy Spacek, Lawrence reflected on her experience filming while she was four to five months pregnant. She noted that this unique situation helped her connect with her character. “It was really helpful, because when you’re pregnant, you’re kind of animalistic,” she explained. Lawrence emphasized that pregnancy awakens new areas of the brain, which resonated with the character of Grace, who exhibits intense emotional struggles throughout the film.

Lawrence described feeling like a “caged animal” at times, a sentiment that mirrored Grace’s challenges. She highlighted how this energy contributed positively to her performance, enhancing the authenticity of her portrayal.

Relaxation Through Reality TV

After wrapping up emotionally charged scenes, Lawrence turned to television to decompress. Specifically, she found solace in the reality show The Secret Lives of Mormon Tiktokers (Wives), which is available on Hulu. “Fortunately, it was on Hulu, and as we know, they release [the episodes] all at once,” Lawrence remarked, indicating that binge-watching the show provided a much-needed escape after demanding filming days.

She expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming season of the reality series, sharing a lighter moment about how watching the characters consume large sodas made her feel nauseous during her pregnancy. “When I would watch them squirt all those… into those huge sodas, that made me, like, sick,” she admitted, revealing the humorous side of her experience.

As the anticipation builds for the release of Die My Love, Lawrence’s candid reflections on her filming experience highlight not only the challenges of portraying a complex character but also the simple pleasures that help maintain balance during intense work periods.
