Rob Dyrdek has addressed the cancellation of his long-running series, Ridiculousness, which aired on MTV for an impressive 46 seasons. While the show will continue to feature new episodes until 2026, no additional episodes will be produced going forward. This decision comes just one day after reports indicated that Dyrdek was earning at least $32.5 million annually from the network.
In a heartfelt video shared on social media, the 51-year-old entertainer expressed his gratitude to fans and reflected on his journey over the years. “I just want to say thank you to every single person who ever watched any of my shows,” Dyrdek stated. He noted that his career has spanned 19 years, involved four different shows, and included a staggering 2034 episodes.
Dyrdek emphasized that this moment feels like “divine timing” for him, as he has evolved significantly in recent years. He explained that he is moving beyond the persona of wearing a ball cap and performing on the Ridiculousness stage. “As I look back, what I was most proud of was how deeply efficient I got,” he remarked.
The producer and host highlighted the efficiency he achieved while filming the show, sometimes completing up to 12 episodes in a single day. He attributed this success to his commitment to understanding and optimizing his time management. “Really it was because I was so committed to this time mastery goal of mine,” he explained. Dyrdek revealed that this focus not only improved the efficiency of Ridiculousness but also greatly enhanced his overall quality of life.
As he looks to the future, Dyrdek hinted at new projects on the horizon. “I know that the reason I live such an amazing life and such a high-quality existence is because I account for all my time,” he said. He expressed a desire to help others achieve similar benefits through better time management. “I created this so that everybody could easily account for their time, optimize their time, and thus optimize their quality of life.”
Fans of Dyrdek can expect an engaging continuation of his creative endeavors, even as Ridiculousness comes to a close.
