The Zac Brown Band launched its eight-date residency at Las Vegas’ Sphere on December 5, 2023, coinciding with the release of their new album, Love & Fear. The opening night featured a dynamic setlist of 26 songs, including seven tracks from the new album, showcasing the band’s extensive repertoire and fan favorites.
During the concert, the band highlighted songs that span their career, starting from their debut album, The Foundation, released in 2008. The evening was not only a celebration of their latest work but also a testament to the enduring appeal of the group, which has won three Grammy Awards and consistently topped charts.
Zac Brown expressed his excitement about performing at the Sphere, describing it as a dream come true. “I’ve been wanting to do a spectacle for a couple of years,” he stated in an interview with Billboard earlier this year. “The Sphere is the greatest canvas that’s ever been created for imagination.” He emphasized that this performance marks a new chapter for the band, referring to it as “2.0 for our band.”
Brown continued, “There are some bands that keep going for a while and then they kind of get tired; they stop. But my passion and my creativity is as good now as it’s ever been, and I just want to keep pushing the envelope of what our band is capable of.” He reassured fans that the group is not slowing down, stating, “We’ve actually got our foot on the gas.”
The Sphere, which opened in 2023, offers a unique venue for concerts, allowing for immersive experiences that enhance the live performance. The first four shows of the residency are sold out, with limited tickets available for the remaining dates, which conclude on January 17, 2024.
The setlist for the opening night featured a variety of songs from their discography, including tracks from albums such as Jekyll + Hyde (2015), The Comeback (2021), and Love & Fear (2023). Highlights included their hit “Colder Weather” from the 2010 album You Get What You Give, and a cover of Van Morrison’s classic “Into the Mystic.”
As the Zac Brown Band continues its residency, fans can expect a mix of nostalgia and fresh material, reinforcing the group’s position as one of the leading acts in contemporary country music. The Sphere residency promises to deliver an unforgettable experience, blending the band’s musical talents with the venue’s cutting-edge technology, ensuring that audiences are engaged from start to finish.
