Business Leaders Honored at BIA’s 112th Annual Awards Celebration

The Business and Industry Association (BIA) celebrated its 2025 Lifetime Achievement and New Hampshire Advantage awards during a gala event held on October 22, 2025. The 112th annual Dinner and Awards Celebration, presented by Eversource, gathered nearly 700 influential business and political leaders at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Manchester. This event stands as New Hampshire’s largest business networking occasion.

Lifetime Achievement Award Recipients

This year’s Lifetime Achievement Awards were presented to Jeanne Shaheen, retiring United States Senator; Tim Sink, outgoing president and CEO of the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce; and Alexander Walker, former president and CEO of Catholic Medical Center. These individuals have made significant contributions to their professions and communities, shaping New Hampshire through their leadership and dedication.

Jeanne Shaheen has been a groundbreaking figure in American politics, being the first woman to be elected both governor and U.S. senator. Over her more than three-decade career, she has consistently advocated for the state, focusing on economic growth, healthcare access, support for veterans, and environmental protection.

Tim Sink has played a pivotal role for over thirty years in strengthening the local business landscape. His efforts have fostered economic development and made the Concord area a more vibrant place to live and work. As the longest-tenured chamber executive in New Hampshire, Sink has served as a mentor to many in the industry.

Alexander Walker is recognized for his impactful leadership in the business, healthcare, and nonprofit sectors. Before his tenure at Catholic Medical Center, where he served in several executive roles, Walker was the president and CEO of Devine Millimet, a prominent law firm in the state. He has also contributed to various civic and educational boards, including the Granite United Way and the University System of New Hampshire.

New Hampshire Advantage Award Recipient

The New Hampshire Advantage Award honors organizations that enhance the state’s character and quality of life. This year, the award was presented to Swim With A Mission, an organization dedicated to supporting veterans, service members, and their families. Founded in 2017, Swim With A Mission has raised millions through community events, including an annual open-water swim on Newfound Lake.

Under the guidance of founders Phil and Julie Taub, the organization has mobilized a dedicated network of board members and volunteers, enabling it to directly support veteran service organizations. These funds provide critical resources such as housing, healthcare, job training, and mental health support.

The BIA’s annual awards serve not only to recognize outstanding achievements but also to inspire continued dedication to improving the business landscape in New Hampshire. The celebration underscores the importance of community involvement and leadership in driving the state’s growth and character.
