Historic Courthouse Transforms with Holiday Cheer for 2025

The historic Tehama County Courthouse in Red Bluff, California, has been adorned with festive decorations for the 2025 holiday season. Located at 633 Washington St., the 103-year-old building now features an impressive array of lights wrapped around its columns and a large illuminated star at its peak, responding to requests from local residents.

As part of a long-standing tradition, the facilities management staff has transformed the courthouse rotunda into a holiday spectacle. Facilities Manager Levi Conner noted that this decoration practice began around 1960. Over the years, themes have varied, with some years showcasing creative pop culture-inspired decorations, including references to the Grinch.

For this year’s festivities, the decorations take on a more traditional yet grand form. A towering Christmas tree occupies the center of the rotunda, surrounded by warm, sparkling lights that enhance the ambience of the shiny-tiled lobby. The visual effect creates a welcoming atmosphere for visitors during the holiday season.

The courthouse not only serves as a hub for various county offices but also as a community gathering spot during this festive time. The decorations are a testament to local spirit and engagement, reflecting the community’s desire to celebrate together in a historic setting.

With the courthouse beautifully illuminated, Red Bluff residents and visitors alike can experience the joy and warmth of the holiday season in a space that holds significant historical value.
