Travelers booking vacation packages to Jamaica can now benefit from a new initiative by JetBlue Vacations, which offers a payout of $500 if rain disrupts their holiday. This program, known as the “Great Weather Guarantee,” was announced in collaboration with WeatherPromise and the Jamaica Tourism Board. It aims to enhance the travel experience by providing financial reassurance for those who purchase specific flight and hotel packages during the rainy season.
The Great Weather Guarantee is available for Jamaica Flight + Hotel packages booked between March 1 and May 31, 2026, with travel dates extending through December 1, 2026. Customers who make these reservations will automatically receive this guarantee included in their booking. Once a trip is booked, travelers will gain access to a personalized dashboard that details their coverage and outlines the conditions necessary for a payout.
Innovative Travel Protection
This initiative marks a significant step in the travel industry, as JetBlue Vacations becomes the first airline vacation brand to integrate a weather guarantee directly into vacation packages. The collaboration with WeatherPromise, which began in 2025, aims to provide customers with greater confidence when traveling. “WeatherPromise is designed to give customers greater confidence to travel and experience new places,” said Daniel Price, Co-Founder of WeatherPromise. He emphasized that this partnership enhances the experience of visiting Jamaica, a popular Caribbean destination.
JetBlue Vacations will continuously monitor weather conditions using advanced data analytics, satellite imagery, and radar technology. If rainfall exceeds the predetermined threshold during a customer’s trip, they will receive a notification about their eligibility for the $500 payout. Customers will have options for how they wish to receive their compensation.
Supporting Jamaica’s Tourism
This initiative not only aims to reduce traveler anxiety regarding weather disruptions but also highlights Jamaica’s appeal as a vibrant tourist destination. “Jamaica is a destination of rich culture and warm hospitality,” stated Edmund Bartlett, Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism. He added that the Great Weather Guarantee allows visitors to embrace the island’s offerings with added confidence, ensuring they can create unforgettable memories across its unique landscapes and vibrant communities.
To qualify for the payout, travelers must book trips ranging from three to sixteen nights. In addition, travel must begin at least seven days after booking, with flights either departing from or arriving at Montego Bay or Kingston. With brief showers commonplace in the region, this guarantee aims to provide added peace of mind as travelers plan their tropical vacations.
As Jamaica continues to capture the interest of tourists worldwide, JetBlue’s innovative weather assurance represents a significant development in the travel sector, making vacations more secure and enjoyable.
