New Minowa Players Celebrate 50 Years with Gala on March 7

The New Minowa Players (NMP), a vital part of the performing arts scene in Decorah, is set to celebrate its 50th anniversary with a gala event on March 7, 2024. This milestone marks five decades of dedication to live theatre, transforming the organization from a small group of theatre enthusiasts into a cherished community institution.

The anniversary gala will take place at the Peace Dining Room at Luther College from 18:30 to 22:00. Organizers anticipate a gathering of longtime supporters, performers, directors, and newcomers, all coming together for a night filled with nostalgia and celebration. The event aims to honor the rich history of NMP while also looking forward to its future.

Guests can look forward to a diverse program that includes a mix of music and storytelling, showcasing the impactful performances that NMP has delivered over the years. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in a silent auction featuring unique art pieces and experiences, as well as enjoy a costume display. A selfie station with props will add a fun element for theatre lovers to capture memories of the evening.

Food offerings will include hearty appetizers and desserts, along with a cash bar to enhance the celebratory atmosphere. Tickets for the event are priced at $25 per person and are available for purchase at www.newminowaplayers.org/tickets and at the Oneota Co-op in downtown Decorah.

This gala serves as both a celebration and a fundraiser, with proceeds aimed at ensuring that the New Minowa Players can continue providing high-quality productions, educational opportunities, and community engagement for years to come.

As NMP reflects on its 50 years of applause, laughter, and dedication, it emphasizes that the journey is far from over. The gala promises to be a meaningful evening of reminiscence, joy, and inspiration for all who attend.
