URGENT UPDATE: Ars Choralis has just announced its highly anticipated schedule for the holiday concert season, featuring captivating performances that are set to weave together cherished traditions and festive music.
On Saturday, Dec. 6, at 7 p.m., the chorus will perform at Holy Cross/Santa Cruz Episcopal Church, located at 30 Pine Grove Ave., Kingston. The following day, Sunday, Dec. 7, at 4 p.m., the group will take the stage at Overlook United Methodist Church, 233 Tinker St., Woodstock. Both concerts will showcase the program titled “Holiday Sampler,” which features a blend of holiday music rooted in American colonial traditions alongside sacred Christmas pieces from Europe.
Joining Ars Choralis will be the Hudson Valley Youth Brass Ensemble, under the direction of Harvey Boyer, adding a rich, brass-infused sound to the performances. This concert marks the commencement of the 2025–26 season, celebrating the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and highlighting the diverse cultures that shape America today.
Tickets are available for $30 at the door, $25 in advance, and $10 for students. This is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the holiday spirit, so don’t miss out!
Further enhancing the community spirit, Ars Choralis will also present a free New Year’s Eve concert titled “A Quilt of Courage” on Wednesday, Dec. 31, at 6 p.m. at Old Dutch Church, located at 262 Wall St., Kingston. This concert, held in partnership with the city of Kingston and the church, aims to honor the lives of Hudson Valley residents who have significantly impacted the nation with their selfless dedication.
In a gesture of goodwill, cash donations will be collected during this event to benefit People’s Place of Kingston, reinforcing the concert’s focus on community and support.
Additionally, mark your calendars for Saturday, Nov. 29, at 7 p.m. when Ars Choralis collaborates with the Windham Festival Chamber Orchestra at the Orpheum Performing Arts Center, situated at 6050 State Route 23A, Tannersville. This performance promises to be a remarkable showcase of talent and artistry.
