Arthur John MacNeel, Beloved Nurse, Passes Away at 71

URGENT UPDATE: Arthur John MacNeel, a cherished Registered Nurse and beloved family member, has passed away peacefully at his home on November 2, 2025. He was 71 years old. MacNeel, who dedicated over three decades of his life to serving patients at Dominican Hospital in Soquel, California, is remembered for his kindness and commitment to his family.

Born on October 11, 1954, in Laramie, Wyoming, MacNeel transitioned from organic farming to nursing, earning his Registered Nurse credentials in 1986. His compassionate approach and dedication to healthcare made a lasting impact on many lives until his retirement in 2020 after an impressive 34-year career.

MacNeel’s family emphasized his deep love for them and his passion for spending time at their family cabin in the Rocky Mountains of Wyoming. He leaves behind his children, Maya DeMontaigu-MacNeel and Orion DeMontaigu-MacNeel, and his grandchild, Dominic De La Cruz. He is also survived by his siblings, Adela Klima and Edward MacNeel.

The family has confirmed his request for cremation, facilitated by Ave Maria Memorial Chapel. A private Celebration of Life is scheduled for December 2025, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory.

MacNeel’s passing is a significant loss not only to his family but also to the community he served with compassion and dedication. His legacy will continue through the lives he touched throughout his nursing career.
