Blazer Athletics Partners with Dr. Ed’s for Nutrition Support

UPDATE: Valdosta State Athletics has just announced a pivotal partnership with Dr. Ed’s Nutrition Shoppe, designating the local business as the official nutrition supplement provider for Blazer Athletics. This collaboration aims to enhance the performance and recovery of VSU’s student-athletes and was confirmed on December 19, 2025.

Located at 1531 Baytree Road in Valdosta, Dr. Ed’s Nutrition Shoppe will serve as the exclusive supplier of nutrition supplements, playing a crucial role in supporting the health and wellness of the athletes. “This partnership provides a tremendous advantage for our student-athletes’ growth and recovery throughout training and competition,” stated Michael Doscher, VSU Director of Strength and Conditioning.

The partnership promises to deliver extensive visibility for Dr. Ed’s Nutrition Shoppe across Blazer Athletics. This includes venue signage at athletic events and integration into academic channels. The collaboration will position Dr. Ed’s as a campus wellness partner, focusing on education, performance nutrition, and the long-term health of athletes.

Valdosta State Director of Athletics Troy Katen highlighted the alignment of values between the athletics department and Dr. Ed’s. “We are excited to welcome Dr. Ed’s Nutrition Shoppe as an official partner of Blazer Athletics,” Katen said. “Their commitment to nutritional education and wellness aligns with our mission to support the total development of our student-athletes both on and off the field.”

The partnership aims to connect Dr. Ed’s with Blazer student-athletes, students, and fans through full brand integration and experiential wellness activities. Shelby Floyd, Store Manager of the Valdosta location, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “Dr. Ed’s team is ecstatic for this partnership. Dr. Ed’s Nutrition Shoppe operates five locations nationwide, including Valdosta; Hanover, Massachusetts; Fort Walton Beach, Florida; Huber Heights, Ohio; and Daytona Beach, Florida. The company collaborates with leading brands such as Drink LMNT, Transparent Labs, and First Phorm, ensuring athletes receive top-notch nutritional support.
