Chatfield Wrestlers Dominate Day One of Bi-State Classic

UPDATE: The Chatfield wrestling teams have made a stunning impact on the first day of the Bi-State Classic in La Crosse, Wisconsin, on December 29, 2025. The girls’ team leads the overall scores with an impressive 195 points, while the boys’ team is in a strong second place with 176.5 points among 68 boys teams.

The Chatfield girls shone brightly, with standout performances from Melody Ward (100), Maizee Priebe (114), Elle Eickhoff (145), and Eve Goetzinger (165), all reaching the semifinals. Priebe and Eickhoff each secured four pins, propelling the Gophers to the top of the leaderboard.

On the boys’ side, the spotlight was on Joey Cady, ranked first in Class 1A at 107, who racked up 30 points through four consecutive pins, securing his place in tomorrow’s semifinals. Joining him are Logan Pearson (126) and Kaisen Johnson (132), both displaying exceptional skill throughout the day.

Notably, Cannon Falls/Randolph also had a strong showing with three wrestlers making it to the semifinals: Garrett Williams (106), Owen Parish (113), and Adam Parish (132). Meanwhile, Zumbrota-Mazeppa saw Carl Murray advance at 120 after a hard-fought victory over Chatfield’s Jameson Priebe, winning by a narrow 1-0 decision. The Goodhue Wildcats also celebrated as Hayden Holm reached the semifinals at 150.
