Community Mourns Loss of Sally Cooper, 71, at December Funeral

A funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on December 10, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., where friends, family, and community members are expected to gather to celebrate her remarkable life.

Sally was born on November 4, 1953, in Long Beach, California, and moved to Santa Cruz at the age of nine. She dedicated her life to serving her community, coaching youth soccer, and supporting the Soquel School District. Her impact was profound, as she touched the lives of countless students and families through her unwavering kindness and commitment.

After meeting her husband, Kevin Cooper, in high school, the couple enjoyed a loving partnership that lasted an impressive 54 years. Sally leaves behind her husband, three sons—Chris, Brian, and Jake—and a daughter, Amy. Her legacy continues through her five cherished grandchildren: Bradley, Troy, Logan, Kendall, and Kenzie.

Sally was not only a devoted family member but also a passionate advocate for animal welfare. In lieu of flowers, her family encourages donations to the SPCA in her memory, reflecting her love for animals, particularly her beloved cat, William, who provided her with comfort and companionship.
