UPDATE: Five individuals were arrested following a Halloween morning burglary at a home in West San Jose, according to police reports released just moments ago. The incident unfolded around 10:15 a.m. as witnesses observed two suspects forcibly entering a garage and stealing various items.
Authorities confirm that the suspects fled the scene in a vehicle before law enforcement arrived. Utilizing advanced automated license plate reader cameras, officers successfully tracked down the vehicle and initiated a stop outside a residence on the 100 block of Muirfield Drive.
A detailed search of the vehicle uncovered a stolen rifle, a privately made handgun, and property believed to be taken during the burglary. Additionally, officers discovered evidence linking the suspects to other burglaries in the area, underscoring a pattern of criminal activity.
The arrests include three suspects: a 55-year-old man, a 41-year-old woman, and a 32-year-old woman, all hailing from San Jose. They face charges of burglary and are currently booked into Santa Clara County Jail.
Moreover, a 44-year-old man and a 19-year-old man, residing at the Muirfield Drive address, were also taken into custody on charges related to possession of stolen property and firearm-related offenses.
