BREAKING: Craig Sheil, an adjunct instructor at Fitchburg State University, has just been awarded the prestigious MassCUE Pathfinder Award during the 2025 MassCUE conference at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro. This recognition highlights his outstanding contributions to educational technology in Massachusetts.
Sheil expressed his gratitude, stating, “It is such an honor to be recognized for this award. I am certainly proud of the work that I have done along my educational journey.” The MassCUE Pathfinder Award is given to educators who demonstrate exceptional leadership and inspire others in the field of digital teaching.
This year, Sheil shares the honor with Dr. Rayna Freedman, a fifth-grade teacher at Jordan Jackson School in Mansfield. With over 23 years in public education, Sheil has transitioned from a high school mathematics teacher to a digital learning specialist at Bedford High School in New Hampshire, where he supports staff in effectively integrating technology into their teaching.
“It certainly is not a dull moment as we continue to navigate this world of AI and what that might look like in the educational setting,” Sheil noted. He completed his master’s degree at Fitchburg State University in 2012, and he actively applies insights from his role as a digital learning specialist to enhance his teaching at the university.
The Massachusetts Computer Using Educators (MassCUE) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting digital teaching and learning among educators. Sheil’s recognition underscores the vital impact of educators who embrace technology to foster learning in today’s rapidly evolving educational landscape.
This award not only highlights Sheil’s individual achievements but also serves as an inspiration for educators across the state, encouraging them to innovate and lead in the classroom. As educational technology continues to evolve, professionals like Sheil are at the forefront, shaping how educators and students interact with digital tools.
Stay tuned for further updates on the impact of this recognition on Sheil’s future initiatives in education and technology.
