Israel Urges Diaspora Jews to Make Aliyah Amid Surge in Antisemitism

BREAKING: Israel’s Foreign Minister, Gideon Sa’ar, has urgently called on Jews living in the Diaspora to make aliyah, following a disturbing rise in antisemitic terror attacks globally. This appeal comes just days after a horrific shooting in Sydney left 15 people dead, highlighting the escalating danger for Jewish communities worldwide.

In a powerful message delivered during a Chanukah candle lighting ceremony, Sa’ar stated, “Today, Jews are being hunted across the world. I call on Jews in England, France, Australia, Canada, and Belgium: come to the Land of Israel! Come home!” He emphasized the welcoming nature of Israel, saying, “Israelis are waiting for you here with open arms. Why raise your children in this atmosphere?”

The call to action follows a tragic incident on December 10, 2024, when Islamic State-linked gunmen, Naveed Akram and his father Sajid Akram, opened fire at a Chabad-run gathering at Bondi Beach, Australia. Naveed, who has been charged with 59 offenses, including acts of terror, was injured in the attack and is currently recovering in the hospital. His father was killed at the scene. This atrocity is part of a larger trend, with intelligence services linking a series of antisemitic arson attacks in Australia throughout 2024 to Iranian influence.

Furthermore, on Yom Kippur, another attack occurred at the Heaton Park Synagogue in Manchester, where two individuals lost their lives in a violent rampage by Jihad al-Shamie. This incident underscores the growing threat faced by Jewish congregations, with official statistics revealing a significant uptick in antisemitic hate crimes in the UK, US, and across Europe since the October 7 attacks on Israel.

Sa’ar’s remarks reflect a deep concern for the safety of Jews worldwide, urging them to find refuge in Israel, which he described as the “true home of the Jewish people.” The urgency of his message resonates amid fears of increasing violence and hostility against Jews in various countries.

WHAT’S NEXT: As the situation develops, many in the Diaspora are grappling with the implications of Sa’ar’s call. Will more families heed this urgent appeal and relocate to Israel? The world watches closely as communities respond to these escalating threats.
