Madison County Senior Center Updates Nutrition Menu and Events

UPDATE: The Madison County Senior Center has just announced a change to its nutrition menu contribution rates, effective immediately. Seniors aged 60 and over are now asked to contribute $6.00, while guests under 60 will be charged $8.00. This adjustment aims to support the center’s ongoing efforts to provide quality meals and services for the community.

The menu for the upcoming days features a variety of hearty meals designed to cater to different tastes. On Tuesday, December 9, diners can enjoy Chicken & Rice Casserole, Harvard Beets, Seasoned Broccoli, a roll, Blushing Pears, and Sunshine Cake. The following day, Wednesday, December 10, the menu includes Scrambled Eggs and Sausage, Baked Hash Browns, Biscuit & Gravy, Orange Juice, and a choice of a Small Banana or Cinnamon Roll.

On Thursday, December 11, participants can look forward to Goulash, Carrots, Peas, Garlic Bread, Tropical Fruit, and Wonderful Banana Cake. Finally, on Friday, December 12, guests can choose between Catfish or a Cheeseburger, accompanied by Sweet Potato Fries, Coleslaw, Pudding with Bananas, and Chocolate Cake.

In addition to the updated menu, the Senior Center is hosting several exciting events. Every Wednesday at 9 a.m., attendees can participate in free Chair Yoga, designed to promote wellness and relaxation. Following this, a Jam Session occurs every Thursday from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., with food served from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The center also provides essential health services, including Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar checks on the second Thursday of every month from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m..

Mark your calendars for an exciting Bingo Night fundraiser, set for December 12 starting at 5:30 p.m. Entry costs $10 per person, and all proceeds will support the Senior Center’s programs.
