URGENT UPDATE: New photos have just been released of a man identified as a “person of interest” in a Tucson shooting that critically injured two workers at a Goodwill donation center. The shooting occurred at about 9:30 a.m. on September 29, 2023, in the 7600 block of East Valencia Road, near South Los Reales Road.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department has confirmed that both victims were rushed to the hospital and remain in critical condition. Authorities have not yet publicly identified the victims, but a GoFundMe account has revealed that Juan Cristobal Flores, a University of Arizona student and part-time worker at the donation center, is one of those injured. The campaign states, “Juan Cristobal has spent his life lifting others through music. Now, he needs our voices, our prayers, and our help.”
The emotional impact of this tragedy is palpable. Catalina United Methodist Church, where Flores is a cherished member, expressed their devastation in a statement, calling him “kind, gentle, caring, and profoundly gifted.” The church highlighted his commitment to uplifting others through music and his long-standing involvement with their Scholar Singers program.
